EMMA SHERMAN
Professional Portfolio
Vice President and Co-founder Allies for Healthcare Diversity
I co-founded the Allies for Healthcare Diversity Club at Clemson University during my sophomore year. I decided to help create this club after learning about the impacts of health disparities during my health science courses. Through this club, I have gained valuable leadership and organizational skills as the Vice President. I have also been able to spread awareness about health disparities in hopes of lessening their effects in the future.

Ambassador
MedEx Academy
After my virtual participation in a modified MedEx Academy Tier 2 during the summer of 2020, I applied to become an ambassador for the program. My position began in the fall of 2020, and I am currently still an ambassador. As an ambassador, my responsibilities include promoting MedEx Clemson Club-sponsored events on social media, attending and leading club meetings, aiding students in the application process, and interviewing applicants for the internship.
Vice President
Health Professions Ambassadors

I have been a Health Professions Ambassador since the Spring of 2020. As an Ambassador, I attend biweekly, hour-long meetings where ambassadors learn about different health care fields and ways to become successful health care professionals. Ambassadors also are required to log service hours, attend open houses for prospective students, and serve as guides during Clemson's annual Tigers on Call event.
In the Spring of 2021, I was elected Vice President of HPA. Under this position, I have created and maintained the organization's google drive, assisted with the planning and execution of general body meetings. I have served the Tigers on Call planning team.
Workout Volunteer
Clemson Life

I have shared my love of exercise with the Clemson Life students since the spring of 2021. As a workout volunteer, I meet weekly for an hour and participate in workout classes with the students. The Clemson Life students are students with intellectual disabilities who attend Clemson University. I encourage the students to exercise during and outside of the class to better their health. I have learned how to interact with a wide range of personalities while volunteering.
