Throughout my major required courses, I have learned about the health care system itself, health insurance, health determinants, the impact of public health and epidemiology, and many other fields. These courses have broadened my perspective and understanding of the healthcare field. I am currently participating in my major's departmental honors program. The program has allowed me to research one of my biggest passions: indoor tanning and skin cancer prevention. Because of this program, I am finally fulfilling my dream of creating an indoor tanning educational intervention video. If you would like to learn more about this topic, I have attached the final copy of my thesis below. I am in the process of getting my video approved for implementation and testing.
Research/Creative Inquiries
Creative Inquiry with Dr. Bruce King
During the spring of 2020, I began a creative inquiry research project under the mentorship of Dr. King. The idea for the project stemmed from an honors seminar class I took the prior semester. My peer research team and I created a survey to identify the level of awareness students had of the sexual health services offered by the Clemson University on-campus clinic. We then distributed and coded the data obtained from the survey to analyze the data. You can find our research project published here.
